Fight Collection — Dan Henderson versus Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua — UFC 139: Shogun vs. Henderson, November 19th, 2011

Henderson vs Diaz (Lightweight Championship)
Rua vs Gustafsson
MacDonald vs Penn

They all show up to fight every time, it should an exciting night. Now, lets hope injuries don’t set them back or ruin the card.

Fight Night is an article style discussion where three (sometimes more) MMA fans share their thoughts/opinions with what’s going on in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. This is the first edition and it is solely UFC on FOX Shogun vs Vera. As we continue this series (which is most likely going to be posted every month or so) we will get into other topics, we really just wanted to break this in and see how it felt and went.  If you would be interested in discussing things with us or have ideas on how we could improve (without going podcast right now) let us know!

Well my net has been down all day, so skipping to the main card.

  • Machida
  • Varner
  • Swick

Possible upsets picks:
Ryan Bader, Joe Lauzon

I haven’t seen any of the undercard but I just checked the results but I missed three picks not counting the Davis eye poke that happened.

       UFC 139: Shogun vs Hendo

You probably heard me say it a hundred times now, I been watching MMA since UFC 1, I have seen PRIDE rise and fall, I seen UFC rise from the smoldering ashes with a vengeance. I remember thinking Affliction actually had a shot at giving UFC a run for their money, I recently got into Bellator. So it’s quite obvious I have seen some exciting fights. But nothing so far has topped Shogun vs Hendo, nothing has yet not even Chandler vs Alvarez which was a helluva fight but not Shogun vs Hendo. Five round slug fest and neither man got dropped. Not going past the first round you say? Definitely not the second? How the fuck are they still standing? It should win Fight of the Year (2011) hands down.
